If you’re a college senior with a paid internship, you have a greater chance of receiving a job offer, according to a recent study.
It doesn’t exactly mean you should rule out unpaid internships, especially in your early college years (besides you can’t put a price on experience!). Besides, there are paid internships out there that require prior experience.
The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) reports paid interns or co-ops see a greater job offer rate.
While this study isn’t specific to news internships, it does breakdown the different employer types. For instance, private/for-profit organizations had the highest offer rate – 72.2% – for paid interns/co-ops, whereas the offer for unpaid interns was 43.9%.
